Vendredi sur Mer has largely contributed to shaping a new francophone pop, recognizable by the alchemy between his soft voice and his catchy melodies. With melancholy and sincerity, she evokes her desires as well as her flaws, and never ceases to surprise us by leading us into a singular universe for each of her projects.
His first album Premiers émois (2019) captured the innocence of adolescence through a sung-spoken style that became his signature. With Métamorphose (2022), she explored more raw sounds, inspired in particular by techno. Her latest album Malabar Princess (2025) marks a return to landscapes that are dear to her – mountains – in a work nourished by poetry and doubts, a reflection of an artist in search of authenticity.
As an opening act, discover Waterlily, a young artist and songwriter who sings songs in French with pop/folk sounds. When she sings, Waterlily projects her refuge, it is there that she writes about others, the world, love and its colors. Her intimate and sensitive universe borrows from Pomme and Emilie Simon as well as from Boris Vian and Michel Gondry. If the belly knots, if the flowers burn or the inner octopus moves, Waterlily will write it in her songs like a diary.

Friday sur Mer heeft grotendeels bijgedragen aan de vorming van een nieuwe Franse pop, herkenbaar aan de alchemie tussen zijn zachte stem en zijn koppige melodieën. Met melancholie en oprechtheid roept ze haar verlangens op als haar fouten, en blijft ze ons altijd verrassen door ons in een enkel universum te slepen naar elk van haar projecten.
Zijn eerste album Premiers émois (2019) legde de onschuld van de adolescentie vast door middel van een gezongen gesproken stijl die zijn handtekening werd. Met Métamorphose (2022) verkende ze meer rauwe klanken, vooral geïnspireerd door techno. Zijn laatste album Malabar Princess (2025) markeert een terugkeer naar landschappen die hem dierbaar zijn – de bergen – in een werk gevoed door poëzie en twijfel, een weerspiegeling van een kunstenaar die op zoek is naar authenticiteit.
