Giardino Botanico Lama degli Ulivi
Contrada Conchia, 298, 70043 Monopoli BA
The garden, conceived as a place of acclimatization for Mediterranean plants, winds inside a "blade", that is a characteristic erosive groove dug into the Murgia step. In this evocative scenario of the surface of three hectares, characterized by different exposures and microclimates and a real "forest" of secular olive trees, over 2,000 plant species have been planted over the course of almost twenty years, some autochthonous, such as those typical of the Mediterranean scrub and the limestone cliffs of the Murgia, others of exotic origin (Australian, South African and South American), which have perfectly adapted to the Apulian landscape for their close bioclimatic affinities.
