Museo Orto Botanico di Roma
Largo Cristina di Svezia 23A, Roma, Lazio
An oasis of nature at the foot of the Janiculum. The transformation of the ancient Corsini garden, formerly Riario, into the Botanical Garden of the University "La Sapienza" began in the late nineteenth century, after the purchase by the State of the prestigious complex. The original layout has been enriched with important collections of plant species, many rare or endangered, and trees of exceptional value, with varieties of palms, conifers and deciduous trees, distributed according to both systematic and scenic criteria. Spectacular is the avenue of palm trees near the entrance, while the monumental specimens of Platanus orientalis on the sides of the water chain testify to the centuries-old garden.
