Despised, misjudged, keen fighters and resistant to all tests... What if insects were the perfect allegory for b-boys and b-girls? Five insects, break dancers, dressed in costumes made partly from recycled or diverted materials, tell the story of the end of the world, the fight for survival and the beauty of the tiny. A 100% hip-hop piece choreographed by Léa Cazauran with voice-over by Aloïse Sauvage.
“What’s more repulsive than insects?” They are not particularly beautiful, [...] and their way of life is far from being a long, quiet river... They remind me of us, practitioners of the break: this dance born in a context of survival, in the heart of a violent socio-political universe. Tirelessly for over 40 years, we have tried to exist by all means.
