Renewed in 2024, in order to replace around a third of the objects due to their fragility, the permanent exhibition presents new objects while reflecting current issues in ethnographic collections.
During this tour, Damien Kunik, curator of the Asian collections at MEG, invites you to stop in front of the showcases of the Asia trail, focusing on the current issues facing the collections and the objects newly integrated into the exhibition. Whether it's the influence of Western imaginations on the constitution of the Asian collections, or the highlighting of certain long-forgotten ensembles in the collections, this tour invites you to question both the nature of the collections and the choices that precede their display.

Renouvelée en 2024, afin de remplacer environ un tiers des objets en raison de leur fragilité, l'exposition permanente présente de nouveaux objets tout en reflétant les enjeux actuels des collections ethnographiques.
Lors de cette visite, Damien Kunik, conservateur des collections Asie au MEG, vous invite à vous arrêter devant les vitrines du parcours Asie en mettant la focale sur les enjeux actuels des collections et les objets nouvellement intégrés à l'exposition. Que ce soit l'influence des imaginaires occidentaux dans la constitution des collections Asie ou la mise en valeur de certains ensemble, longtemps oubliés, cette visite vous invite à vous interroger autant sur la nature des collections que sur les choix qui précèdent leur exposition.
