In a botanical garden, a tree watches and observes, patient witness of centuries. In 1908, he follows Grete, who struggles to exist in an environment that ignores her. In the 70s, he sees Hannes awakening to love and the world of plants. Today the old tree speaks with Tony in his secret language. Around him, some seek each other, others meet. He dwells, silent friend, in a time vaster than theirs.

Dans un jardin botanique, un arbre veille et observe, témoin patient des siècles. En 1908, il suit Grete, qui lutte pour exister dans un milieu qui l’ignore. Dans les années 70, il voit Hannes s’éveiller à l’amour et au monde des plantes. Aujourd’hui, le vieil arbre parle avec Tony dans son langage secret. Autour de lui, certains se cherchent, d’autres se rencontrent. Lui demeure, ami silencieux, dans un temps plus vaste que le leur.

In een botanische tuin kijkt en observeert een boom, geduldige getuige van eeuwen. In 1908 volgde hij Grete, die worstelde om te bestaan in een omgeving die hem negeerde. In de jaren '70 zag hij Hannes ontwaken om de liefde en de wereld van planten. Vandaag spreekt de oude boom met Tony in zijn geheime taal. Om hem heen zoeken sommigen elkaar, anderen ontmoeten elkaar. Hij blijft, stille vriend, in een tijd die breder is dan die van hen.
