Each year, the Société des Amis de la Piscine offers conferences on major current exhibitions or art history.
Sunday, April 11, 2027: Carthage, by Gunilla Lapointe
Based on three female portraits: Dido, Salammbô and Sophonisbe, and three male figures: Hamilcar, Hannibal and Scipio the African, who embody the city at key moments in its history. The arts produced in the Mediterranean basin, between 814 BC and today, dialogue and tell the story of the ancient city. The exhibition presents a summary of research on this cultural treasure of present-day Tunisia at the Louvre-Lens Museum, 24 March 2027 - 19 July 2027

The lectures are given on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the Daniel Motte auditorium at La Piscine (it is wise to arrive a little early).

Dimanche 11 avril 2027 : Carthage, par Gunilla Lapointe
À partir de trois portraits féminins Didon, Salammbô et Sophonisbe et de trois figures masculines Hamilcar, Hannibal et Scipion l’Africain qui incarnent la cité à des moments clés de son histoire. Les arts produits dans le bassin Méditerranéen, entre 814 avant J.-C. et aujourd’hui, dialoguent et racontent la cité antique. L’exposition présente la synthèse des recherches sur ce trésor culturel de l’actuelle Tunisie au Musée du Louvre-Lens 24 mars 2027 - 19 juillet 2027

Zondag 11 april 2027: Carthage, Door Gunilla Lapointe
Uit drie vrouwelijke portretten Didon, Salammbo en Sophonisbe en drie mannelijke figuren Hamilcar, Hannibal en Scipio de Afrikaan die de stad belichamen op belangrijke momenten in de geschiedenis. Kunst geproduceerd in het Middellandse-Zeebekken, tussen 814 v.Chr en vandaag, dialoog en vertel het verhaal van de oude stad. De tentoonstelling presenteert de synthese van onderzoek naar deze culturele schat van het hedendaagse Tunesië in het Musée du Louvre-lens 24 maart 2027 - 19 juli 2027

Lezingen worden gegeven op zondag om 15 uur 30 in het Daniel Motte auditorium bij het zwembad (het is verstandig om een beetje van tevoren te arriveren).
