Wedged between the Seine and the forest of Rouvray, the village of Grand Quevilly kept until the end of the 19th century a mainly rural character. But with the gradual establishment of factories along the river, its destiny reoriented towards heavy industry from the 1890s. This change in trajectory contributes to its economic and demographic growth and a profound transformation of its landscape. Between history and heritage, Michel Croguennec will return to the journey of Grand Quevilly which remains today the industrial heart of the Rouen agglomeration.
