Die Gefängnisse Saint-Paul und Saint-Joseph wurden im 19. Jahrhundert in Lyon südlich des Bahnhofs Perrache nebeneinander gebaut. Seit 2009 stillgelegt, wurden sie von der UCLy saniert und 2015 eingeweiht. Wie Victor Hugo es vertrat, "eine Schule zu eröffnen, bedeutet ein Gefängnis zu schließen". Die 1875 gegründete Katholische Universität von Lyon hat sich entschieden, den Standort zu übernehmen und einen offenen Campus mit Blick auf die Stadt und die Welt zu schaffen.
Durch diesen Film sehen wir, dass die erste Herausforderung architektonisch war, aber vor allem ein ehrgeiziges Projekt in menschlicher, kultureller und intellektueller Hinsicht.

The prisons Saint-Paul and Saint-Joseph were built next to each other in the 19th century in Lyon south of the Perrache station. Abandoned since 2009, they were rehabilitated by UCLy and inaugurated in 2015. As Victor Hugo preached, "opening a school is closing a prison". The Catholic University of Lyon, founded in 1875, chose to invest the site and create a campus open to the city and the world.
Through this film, we see that, if the first challenge was architectural, it is above all an ambitious project humanly, culturally and intellectually.

Le prigioni di Saint-Paul e Saint-Joseph sono state costruite una accanto all'altra nel XIX secolo a Lione, a sud della stazione di Perrache. Dismesse dal 2009, sono state riabilitate dall'UCLy e inaugurate nel 2015. Come diceva Victor Hugo, "aprire una scuola è chiudere una prigione". L'Université Catholique de Lyon, fondata nel 1875, ha scelto di investire il sito e creare un campus aperto sulla città e sul mondo.
Attraverso questo film vediamo che, se la prima sfida era architettonica, si tratta soprattutto di un progetto ambizioso umanamente, culturalmente e intellettualmente.

Les prisons Saint-Paul et Saint-Joseph ont été construites l'une à coté de l'autre au XIXe siècle à Lyon au sud de la gare de Perrache. Désaffectées depuis 2009, elles ont été réhabilitées par l'UCLy et inaugurée en 2015. Comme le prônait Victor Hugo, "ouvrir une école, c'est fermer une prison". L'Université Catholique de Lyon, fondée en 1875, a choisi d’investir le site et d’y créer un campus ouvert sur la ville et sur le monde.
A travers ce film, nous voyons que, si le premier défi était architectural, il s’agit surtout d’un projet ambitieux humainement, culturellement et intellectuellement.

Deshabilitadas desde 2009, han sido rehabilitadas por la UCLy e inauguradas en 2015. Como lo predicaba Victor Hugo, "abrir una escuela es cerrar una cárcel". La Universidad Católica de Lyon, fundada en 1875, ha elegido invertir el sitio y crear un campus abierto a la ciudad y al mundo.
A través de esta película vemos que, si el primer desafío era arquitectónico, se trata sobre todo de un proyecto ambicioso humanamente, cultural e intelectualmente.
