El centro antiguo y el castillo de Pontoise se construyeron sobre un suelo calcáreo. La extracción de los materiales necesarios para la construcción ha dejado numerosas bodegas con diferentes estilos. Esta bodega corresponde probablemente a una cantera de extracción de piedra caliza parcialmente acondicionada. Consta de dos tramos irregulares y una galería circular tallada en roca.
