For several centuries, inscriptions, sculptures and fragments of ancient architecture discovered in Nîmes and its surroundings are exposed to the four corners of the city. Inscribed on a wall or arranged in the courtyard of a private mansion, these vestiges of a glorious and distant past bear witness both to the erudition of their owners and to the familiarity of the Nîmois with their ancient heritage. Explore the city to discover the last witnesses of this practice, which predates the creation of the first archaeological museum, installed at the end of the 19th century in the former Jesuit college.
