Each year, the Société des Amis de la Piscine offers conferences on major current exhibitions or art history.
Sunday, Oct 25, 2026: Monet’s spiritual journey, by Christian Defebvre
On the occasion of the centenary of the death of Claude Monet, on 5 December 1926 at the age of 86, this conference offers an unprecedented look at this artist with a spirituality without dogma rooted in perception. Three major exhibitions are planned for 2026, in Giverny, Le Havre and at the Musée de l'Orangerie (first opened in 1927) in Paris.

The lectures are given on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the Daniel Motte auditorium at La Piscine (it is wise to arrive a little early).

Dimanche 25 oct. 2026 : Le parcours spirituel de Monet, par Christian Defebvre
À l’occasion du centenaire de la disparition de Claude Monet, le 5 décembre 1926 à l’âge de 86 ans, cette conférence propose un regard inédit sur cet artiste à la spiritualité sans dogme enracinée par la perception. Trois grandes expositions sont prévues en 2026, à Giverny, au Havre et au Musée de l’Orangerie (ouvert pour la première fois en 1927) à Paris.

Les conférences sont données le dimanche à 15h 30 à l’auditorium Daniel Motte à La Piscine (il est prudent d’arriver un peu à l’avance).

Ter gelegenheid van het honderdjarig bestaan van Claude Monet's dood, op 5 december 1926 op 86-jarige leeftijd, biedt deze conferentie een ongekende blik op deze kunstenaar met een spiritualiteit zonder dogma geworteld in perceptie. Voor 2026 staan drie grote tentoonstellingen gepland in Giverny, Le Havre en het Musée de l'Orangerie (voor het eerst geopend in 1927) in Parijs.
