a poem spoken for all (inspired by the life and work of Ladislaw Kijno (but not only!)
written and performed by Thomas Suel
whoever we are, wherever we come from
whether we know each other or not,
whether we love or hate each other
right now, the fact is
the breath passes through us
[nø] it’s called "Noeux" like Noeux-les-Mines or "No!" like No Pasaran! or "our
knots' like the knots we have and make within and between us. [nø] it can also be called ingenious
because the fact is, we are all a little stupid.
[nø] it is a spoken poem and a visual poem painted live in phonetic, an unclassifiable form
open to the moment that is lived there. [nø] is a story inspired by the life and work of the painter Kijno and by the words of the inhabitants of Pas-de-Calais.
Nourished by ordinary faces and landscapes, Thomas’s poetry is at once dense and light, tender, harsh, tragic, funny, singular and universal.
[nø] is an ode to the breath, a work that helps us embrace the shadows and lights that trample through us. A pacifist and invigorating text addressed without any formal formalities to everyone.

qui que l'on soit, d'où que l'on soit
que l'on se connaisse ou pas,
que l'on s'aime ou que l'on se déteste
à l'instant même, le fait est
le souffle nous traverse
[nø] ça se dit « Noeux » comme Noeux-les-Mines ou « No ! » comme No Pasaran ! ou « nos
noeuds » comme les noeuds qu'on a et qu'on fait en et entre nous. [nø] ça peut se dire aussi neuneu
car le fait est, nous sommes toutes et tous un peu neuneu.
[nø] c'est un poème parlé et un poème visuel peint en direct en phonétique, une forme inclassable
ouverte sur l'instant qui se vit là. [nø] c’est un récit inspiré par la vie et l’oeuvre du peintre Kijno et par la parole d'habitant·es du Pas-de-Calais.
Nourrie par des visages et des paysages ordinaires, la poésie de Thomas est à la fois dense et légère, tendre, rude, tragique, drôle, singulière et universelle.

wie je ook bent, wie je ook bent
of we elkaar kennen of niet,
of we van elkaar houden of elkaar haten
op dit moment is het een feit
de adem gaat door ons heen
[NØ] er staat "Noeux" zoals Noeux-les-Mines of "Nee!" Zoals geen Pasaran! of "nrs..
knopen" zoals de knopen die we hebben en maken in en tussen ons. [nø] het is ook neuneu
want het feit is, we zijn allemaal een beetje neuneus.
[nø] het is een gesproken gedicht en een visueel gedicht geschilderd leven in fonetiek, een niet-classificeerbare vorm
open voor het moment dat daar leeft. [NØ] het is een verhaal geïnspireerd door het leven en werk van schilder Kijno en door het woord van bewoner ES·du Pas-de-Calais.
Gevoed door gewone gezichten en landschappen, Thomas's poëzie is zowel dicht en licht, teder, hard, tragisch, grappig, enkelvoud en universeel.
[nø] is een ode aan de adem, een werk dat helpt om de schaduwen en lichten te omarmen die ons trekken en ons kruisen. Een pacifistische en stimulerende tekst gericht zonder tralala aan iedereen.
