Vermutlich im 11. Jahrhundert erbaut, unterstand die Priorei von Châtelars direkt der Abtei von Cluny. Von bescheidener Bedeutung, wurde es zu Beginn des 15. Jahrhunderts aufgegeben. Die Kirche selbst diente bis zum Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts als Pfarrkirche, bevor sie an eine Privatperson verkauft wurde.
Heute ohne Dach, wurde die Kirche im Laufe der Jahrzehnte mehreren Konsolidierungskampagnen unterzogen, ebenso wie die Gebäude des Priorats.

Probably built in the 11th century, the priory of Châtelars depended directly on the abbey of Cluny. Of modest importance, it was abandoned at the beginning of the 15th century. The church, meanwhile, continued to serve as a parish church until the beginning of the 20th century, before being sold to an individual.
Today without roofing, the church has been the subject of several consolidation campaigns over the decades, as have the buildings of the priory.

Probabilmente costruito nel XI secolo, il priorato di Châtelars dipendeva direttamente dall'abbazia di Cluny. Di modesta importanza, venne abbandonato all'inizio del XV secolo. La chiesa, invece, continuò a servire come chiesa parrocchiale fino all'inizio del XX secolo, prima di essere venduta ad un privato.
Oggi priva di tetto, la chiesa è stata oggetto di diverse campagne di consolidamento nel corso dei decenni, così come gli edifici del priorato.

Vraisemblablement construit au XIe siècle, le prieuré du Châtelars dépendait directement de l’abbaye de Cluny. D’importance modeste, il est abandonné au début du XVe siècle. L’église, quant à elle, continue de servir d’église paroissiale jusqu’au début du XXe siècle, avant d’être vendue à un particulier.
Aujourd’hui dépourvue de toiture, l’église a fait l’objet de plusieurs campagnes de consolidation au fil des décennies, tout comme les bâtiments du prieuré.

Construido probablemente en el siglo XI, el priorato de Châtelars dependía directamente de la abadía de Cluny. De importancia modesta, fue abandonado a principios del siglo XV. La iglesia, por su parte, siguió sirviendo como iglesia parroquial hasta principios del siglo XX, antes de ser vendida a un particular.
Hoy en día carente de techo, la iglesia ha sido objeto de varias campañas de consolidación a lo largo de las décadas, al igual que los edificios del priorato.
