Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre is both the oldest church in Paris and the place of worship for the Melkite parish of Paris.
The church offers a superb iconostasis, work of Georges Bitar de Damas, in 1890.
The three doors are framed by Christ Pantocrator, the Virgin Mary, Saint John the Baptist and Saint John Chrysostom. Finally, the Annunciation and the four evangelists can be found on the royal gate.
On the upper level of the iconostasis are the feasts of the life of Christ and, above it, Christ on the cross accompanied by the four evangelists as well as the Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph.
One can admire, during the mass, the ceremonial around the crossing of the iconostasis, accompanied by the choir in Arabic.
