Der Contrevent ist eine Waage, die ein Klavier und einen fliegenden Teppich ausbalanciert. Die Manege ist ein Aufruf zum Imaginären, zur sanften Träumerei, zur Magie der Seelenlosigkeit. Es ist auch das Spiel der Suche nach Gleichgewicht und Stabilität, es ist zerbrechlich und hypnotisch.
Die Funktionsweise ist das Ergebnis des Empirismus: Das Prinzip des Gleichgewichts ermöglicht eine nahezu reibungsfreie Rotation des Ganzen. Der Antrieb wird somit auf einen Ventilator reduziert. Wenn die Drehzahl erreicht ist, stoppt der Lüfter. Das Karussell dreht sich praktisch endlos ohne anderes Geräusch als den Klang des Klaviers.

The Contrevent is a scale, balancing a piano and a magic carpet. The carousel is a call to imagination, to gentle reverie, to the magic of weightlessness. It’s also a game about seeking balance and stability; it’s fragile and hypnotic.
The operation is the fruit of empiricism: The principle of balance allows a rotation of the whole, almost without friction. Propulsion is thus reduced to a fan. When the rotation speed is reached, the fan stops. The merry-go-round runs virtually indefinitely without any noise other than the sound of the piano.
