Anlässlich des 400-jährigen Bestehens des Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle (Nationales Museum für Naturgeschichte) werden seine reichen Kunstsammlungen in einer beispiellosen Ausstellung präsentiert! Von wissenschaftlichen Erkundungen bis hin zu zeitgenössischen Künstlern, die sich von der Naturgeschichte inspirieren lassen, erkunden Sie die tiefen Verbindungen zwischen Kunst und Wissenschaft in über 300 ausgestellten Werken.
Eine Vielzahl von Künstlern hat einen privilegierten Zugang zu den Sammlungen und Räumen des Museums genossen, um sowohl ihre Inspiration anzuregen als auch zum Aufbau naturalistischen Wissens beizutragen. Im Laufe der Jahrhunderte hat sich die Darstellung von Tieren, Pflanzen und Mineralien als unverzichtbar für die Entwicklung der Naturwissenschaften erwiesen.
Seit seiner Gründung im Jahr 1626 ist der Jardin des Plantes Schauplatz einer echten Symbiose zwischen Kunst und Wissenschaft. Malerei, Skulptur, Zeichnung, Fotografie, Taxidermie, Kino, Architektur... Reisen Sie durch 400 Jahre voller Einblicke in eine sich ständig erneuernde Wissenschaft.
Während die fotografischen Sammlungen in einem Unterabschnitt der Ausstellung besonders hervorgehoben werden, werden sie tatsächlich auf dem gesamten Weg präsentiert, um die Bedeutung dieser Kunst in der Geschichte der Einrichtung darzustellen. Seit den Anfängen der Fotografie haben die Forscher des Museums ihr wissenschaftliches Interesse erkannt, wenn sie selbst nicht an ihrem Aufstieg beteiligt waren. Louis Rousseau, Hilfswissenschaftler im Museum und seit 1854 Mitglied der Société française de photographie (französische Gesellschaft für Fotografie), war beispielsweise der erste, der 1853 mit Achille Deveria und den Brüdern Bisson die Fotografien einer zoologischen Sammlung veröffentlichte. Die Naturforscher haben sich auch bei wissenschaftlichen Expeditionen die neuen Möglichkeiten der Fotografie zunutze gemacht, und Louis Gain hat bedeutende fotografische Sammlungen vorgelegt. Die Ausstellung wird darüber berichten, indem sie zeitgenössische Gegenpunkte präsentiert, wie zum Beispiel Unterwasserfotografien von Nicolas Floc'h, einem Gastkünstler bei der Erkundung "La Planète Revisitée" in Guadeloupe im Jahr 2024. Das Museum produziert Fotografien für die Wissenschaft und ist auch ein Thema für zahlreiche Künstler, von Pierre Bérenger über Robert Doisneau bis hin zu Sarah Moon. Die Ausstellung wird auch jungen Fotografen einen Platz bieten, deren Werke sich durch den Austausch mit den Wissenschaftlern des Museums bereichern.

On the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, its rich art collections are unveiled in an unprecedented exhibition! From scientific explorations to contemporary artists inspired by natural history, explore the deep links between art and science, through more than 300 works exhibited.
A host of artists took advantage of privileged access to the collections and spaces of the Muséum, both to stimulate their inspiration and to contribute to the construction of naturalist knowledge. Over the centuries, the representation of animals, plants and minerals has been essential to the development of natural sciences.
Since its creation in 1626, the Jardin des Plantes has been the scene of a true symbiosis between art and science. Painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, taxidermy, cinema, architecture... Explore 400 years of looking at a science that never stops renewing itself.
If the photographic collections will be particularly highlighted in a subsection of the exhibition, they will actually be present throughout the course, to reflect the importance of this art in the history of the establishment. From the very beginning of photography, researchers at the Muséum seized its scientific interest when they did not themselves participate in its development. Louis Rousseau, naturalist-assistant at the Muséum and member of the French Photography Society since 1854, was for example the first to publish, in 1853, with Achille Saleh and the help of the Bisson brothers, photographs of a collection of zoological specimens. Naturalists also seized the new possibilities offered by photography during scientific expeditions, with Louis Gain reporting important photographic collections. The exhibition will reflect this, by presenting contemporary counterpoints, such as underwater photographs taken by Nicolas Floc'h, an artist invited during the exploration of "La Planète Revisitée" in Guadeloupe in 2024. Producer of photographs for the needs of science, the Museum is also a subject for many artists, from Pierre Bérenger to Sarah Moon, through Robert Doisneau. The exhibition will also feature young photographers, whose work is nourished by exchanges with the Museum’s scientists.

In occasione dei 400 anni del Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, le sue ricche collezioni d'arte si svelano in un'esposizione di dimensioni inedite! Dalle esplorazioni scientifiche agli artisti contemporanei ispirati dalla storia naturale, esplora i profondi legami tra arte e scienza attraverso oltre 300 opere esposte.
Una schiera di artisti ha goduto di un accesso privilegiato alle collezioni e agli spazi del museo, sia per stimolare la loro ispirazione che per contribuire alla costruzione della conoscenza naturalistica. Nel corso dei secoli, la rappresentazione di animali, piante e minerali si è rivelata indispensabile per l'elaborazione delle scienze naturali.
Dalla sua creazione nel 1626, il Jardin des Plantes è teatro di una vera e propria simbiosi tra arte e scienza. Pittura, scultura, disegno, fotografia, tassidermia, cinema, architettura... Percorri 400 anni di vedute su una scienza che non smette di rinnovarsi.
Se le collezioni fotografiche saranno particolarmente evidenziate in una sottosezione dell'esposizione, esse saranno in realtà presenti lungo tutto il percorso, per rendere conto dell'importanza di quest'arte nella storia dello stabilimento. Fin dagli inizi della fotografia, i ricercatori del museo hanno colto il suo interesse scientifico, quando non hanno partecipato al suo sviluppo. Louis Rousseau, aiutante naturalista al museo e membro della Société française de photographie dal 1854, è stato il primo a pubblicare, nel 1853, con Achille Deveria e l'aiuto dei fratelli Bisson, le fotografie di una collezione di esemplari zoologici. I naturalisti hanno anche colto le nuove possibilità offerte dalla fotografia durante le spedizioni scientifiche, Louis Gain riporta importanti raccolte fotografiche. L'esposizione ne darà conto, presentando contropunti contemporanei, come le fotografie subacquee scattate da Nicolas Floc'h, artista ospite durante l'esplorazione "La Planète Revisitée" in Guadalupa nel 2024. Produttore di fotografie per le esigenze della scienza, il Museo è anche un soggetto per numerosi artisti, da Pierre Bérenger a Sarah Moon, passando per Robert Doisneau. L'esposizione farà spazio anche a giovani fotografi, le cui opere si nutrono di scambi con gli scienziati del Museo.

À l'occasion des 400 ans du Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, ses riches collections d'art se dévoilent lors d'une exposition d'ampleur inédite ! Depuis les explorations scientifiques jusqu'aux artistes contemporains inspirés par l'histoire naturelle, explorez les liens profonds entre l'art et la science, à travers plus de 300 œuvres exposées.
Une foule d’artistes ont profité d'un accès privilégié aux collections et aux espaces du Muséum, tant pour stimuler leur inspiration que pour contribuer à la construction du savoir naturaliste. À travers les siècles, la représentation des animaux, des végétaux et des minéraux s’est révélée indispensable à l’élaboration des sciences naturelles.
Depuis sa création en 1626, le Jardin des Plantes est le théâtre d’une véritable symbiose entre art et science. Peinture, sculpture, dessin, photographie, taxidermie, cinéma, architecture… Parcourez 400 ans de regards sur une science qui ne cesse de se renouveler.
Si les collections photographiques seront particulièrement mises en avant dans une sous-section de l’exposition, elles seront en réalité présentes tout au long du parcours, pour rendre compte de l’importance de cet art dans l’histoire de l’établissement. Dès les débuts de la photographie les chercheurs du Muséum ont saisi son intérêt scientifique, lorsqu’ils n’ont pas eux-mêmes participé à son essor. Louis Rousseau, aide-naturaliste au Muséum et membre de la Société française de photographie dès 1854, est par exemple le premier à publier, en 1853, avec Achille Deveria et l’aide des frères Bisson, les photographies d’une collection de spécimens zoologiques. Les naturalistes se sont aussi emparés des possibilités nouvelles offertes par la photographie lors des expéditions scientifiques, Louis Gain rapportant d’importantes collectes photographiques. L’exposition en rendra compte, en présentant des contre-points contemporains, tels que les photographies sous-marines prises par Nicolas Floc’h, artiste invité lors de l’exploration « La Planète Revisitée » en Guadeloupe en 2024. Producteur de photographies pour les besoins de la science, le Muséum est aussi un sujet pour de nombreux artistes, de Pierre Bérenger à Sarah Moon, en passant par Robert Doisneau. L’exposition fera aussi une place à de jeunes photographes, dont les œuvres se nourrissent d’échanges avec les scientifiques du Muséum.

Con motivo de los 400 años del Museo Nacional de Historia Natural, sus ricas colecciones de arte se presentan en una exposición de una magnitud inédita! Desde exploraciones científicas hasta artistas contemporáneos inspirados por la historia natural, explore los profundos vínculos entre el arte y la ciencia a través de más de 300 obras expuestas.
Una multitud de artistas han aprovechado un acceso privilegiado a las colecciones y espacios del museo, tanto para estimular su inspiración como para contribuir a la construcción del saber naturalista. A lo largo de los siglos, la representación de animales, plantas y minerales ha demostrado ser indispensable para la elaboración de las ciencias naturales.
Desde su creación en 1626, el Jardín de las Plantas es el escenario de una verdadera simbiosis entre arte y ciencia. Pintura, escultura, dibujo, fotografía, taxidermia, cine, arquitectura... Recorre 400 años de miradas sobre una ciencia que no cesa de renovarse.
Si bien las colecciones fotográficas serán destacadas en una subsección de la exposición, en realidad estarán presentes a lo largo del recorrido, para dar cuenta de la importancia de este arte en la historia del establecimiento. Desde los inicios de la fotografía, los investigadores del Museo han comprendido su interés científico, cuando ellos mismos no participaron en su desarrollo. Louis Rousseau, asistente naturalista en el museo y miembro de la Sociedad francesa de fotografía desde 1854, fue el primero en publicar, en 1853, con Achille Deveria y la ayuda de los hermanos Bisson, las fotografías de una colección de especímenes zoológicos. Los naturalistas también aprovecharon las nuevas posibilidades ofrecidas por la fotografía durante las expediciones científicas, y Louis Gain reportó importantes colecciones fotográficas. La exposición dará cuenta de ello, presentando puntos contrarios contemporáneos, como las fotografías submarinas tomadas por Nicolas Floc'h, artista invitado durante la exploración "El planeta renovado" en Guadalupe en 2024. Productor de fotografías para las necesidades de la ciencia, el Museo es también un tema para numerosos artistas, desde Pierre Bérenger a Sarah Moon, pasando por Robert Doisneau. La exposición hará también lugar a jóvenes fotógrafos, cuyas obras se nutren de intercambios con los científicos del museo.
