Maïa is thirteen years old. A best friend named Alicia, a recent move, a class change. And something strange in the chest, a fear without precise reason, which comes and goes. By leading writing workshops in colleges in the region, Cédric Orain discovered the silent extent of anxiety disorders among teenagers: more than one in two young people is affected, most tell no one. He then wanted to make the theater a space for speaking rather than a course of prevention. With Le Journal de Maïa he follows two friends with humor and lightness, without ever weighing down what he observes. Two actresses, a stripped-down set, scenes that sound right. And after the performance, a time of exchange thought as an integral part of the show.

Maïa a treize ans. Une meilleure amie nommée Alicia, un déménagement récent, un changement de classe. Et quelque chose d’étrange dans la poitrine, une peur sans raison précise, qui va et vient. En animant des ateliers d’écriture dans des collèges de la région, Cédric Orain a découvert l’ampleur silencieuse des troubles anxieux chez les adolescents : plus d’un jeune sur deux est touché, la plupart n’en parle à personne. Il a alors voulu faire du théâtre un espace de parole plutôt qu’un cours de prévention. Avec Le Journal de Maïa il suit deux amies avec humour et légèreté, sans jamais alourdir ce qu’il observe. Deux actrices, un plateau dépouillé, des scènes qui sonnent juste. Et après la représentation, un temps d’échange pensé comme partie intégrante du spectacle.

Maïa is dertien jaar oud. Een beste vriend genaamd Alicia, een recente verhuizing, een klassenverandering. En iets vreemds in de borst, angst zonder specifieke reden, dat komt en gaat. Door workshops te leiden in colleges in de regio ontdekte Cédric Orain de stille omvang van angststoornissen bij adolescenten: Meer dan een op de twee jongeren wordt getroffen, de meesten vertellen er niemand over. Vervolgens wilde hij van theater een ruimte voor spraak maken in plaats van een preventiecursus. Met Le Journal de Maïa volgt hij twee vrienden met humor en lichtheid, zonder ooit af te wegen wat hij observeert. Twee actrices, een gestripte set, scènes die goed klinken. En na de voorstelling, een tijd van uitwisseling dacht als een integraal onderdeel van de show.
