On Sunday 8 June, the Asnapio archaeological park gives you a rendezvous during the reign of Charles VI, in the middle of the Hundred Years' War, and more precisely in the ducal hotel of Louis II de Bourbon.
You will have the opportunity to walk in the camp of the Mesnie Enguerran and enter under the canvas to discover the wooden furniture as well as the sumptuous curtains. Because beyond the purely military aspect, the canvas camp was a place of pomp and parade, especially during sieges and political interviews.
Songs, cleaning armor, games and moments of the meal will be all pretexts to exchange with the knights and noble ladies of the Mesnie.
Many participatory workshops will be offered within this camp: board games and card games, skill and strategy games, illumination, calligraphy but also medieval accounting using the abaque or chess. The public will discover an original and playful accounting system that they can easily take to the game.
Demonstrations of combat, archery and crossbow will also be offered, as well as artillery fire. And all the weapons of this time will be presented: daggers, masses, war hammers and weapons of hast, but also all types of shields and helmets, meshes and protections of limbs.
In order to continue this immersive experience, the show «Heaume Sweet Heaume» of Suprême Fourbi will offer you a whimsical and humorous dive into this period, where you will orient the story by determining the heart of the plot. At 11.30, 13.00, 14.30, 16.00 and 17.30. Duration: 20 minutes.
Other workshops led by the park’s mediators will be accessible continuously (stained glass, tempera, coat of arms...) and allow your children to learn more about a period that has never been mentioned in Asnapio.
