An exhibition of the winners of the 2022 “Kofi Annan Courage in Cartooning Award” – the International Editorial Cartoons Prize – will be organised on Quai Wilson from Sunday 1st May. The winner’s drawings will be on show until 31 May.

The foundation has awarded this biennial prize since 2012 in partnership with the City of Geneva.

60 drawings around 3 key themes

This exhibition will provide the opportunity to reveal the 2022 winners while offering the chance to (re)discover the drawings of illustrators from around the world.

With a total of 60 editorial cartoons identified by the Swiss Freedom Cartoonists Foundation in partnership with the Cartooning for Peace Network (Paris) and Cartoonists Rights Network International (USA) and chosen by the curator, Patrick Chappatte, the 2022 edition focuses on three topical themes: “War in Europe”, “COVID life” and “The climate, a hot topic!”.

Conference and public ceremony

Also on Tuesday 3 May at 12.00 p.m., a conference and public ceremony will be held at the Maison de la Paix (Pictet Auditorium, Graduate Institute - Chemin Eugène-Rigot 2). This event will be attended by the winners of the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize:

Mr Dmitry Muratov (editor-in-chief of the newspaper, Novaïa Gazeta)

as well as:
