Yuri, an architect, recently got divorced. Yoriko, an artist, is haunted by a past romance. A sculptor who works with life-size wooden blocks, she chooses Yuri as her model, spending long hours together as they discuss loss and emotions. Meanwhile, two teenagers, friends of Yoriko’s, develop a bond so strong that they are forced to face a radical choice.
Set against the tranquil backdrop of the Japanese countryside, Nagi Notes is both intriguing and contemplative, straddling the line between escapist storytelling and philosophical reflection. Through subtle, precise gestures, masterfully filmed, it examines lives that are no longer defined by patriarchy. A drama in which nostalgia and art intertwine and scrutinize one another, where the elusive mystery of human nature reigns. A tale that resonates gently.

Yuri, architecte, a récemment divorcé. Yoriko, artiste, est hantée par une ancienne histoire d’amour. Sculptrice de blocs de bois grandeur humaine, cette dernière prend Yuri comme modèle, s’accordant ainsi de longues heures ensemble, échangeant sur la perte et les sentiments. Parallèlement, deux adolescents, amis de Yoriko, développent un lien si fort qu’ils doivent se confronter à un choix radical.
Suspendu au calme de la campagne nippone, Nagi Notes est à la fois intriguant et contemplatif, tendu entre le récit d’évasion et la réflexion philosophique. À travers des gestes subtils et précis, magistralement filmés, il examine des vies qui ne sont plus définies par le patriarcat. Un drame, dans lequel la nostalgie et l’art s’entrelacent et se scrutent, où l’insaisissable mystère de la nature humaine règne. Un conte qui résonne en douceur.
