As part of its strategic reorientation, the MEG questions ethnological practice. Jean-François Bert, who prefaced the new edition of Marcel Mauss's "Essai sur le don" (Flammarion, 2021), insists on the profoundly subversive scope of his anthropology, in particular his "courage to compare" (Labor et Fides, 2021). This meeting will be an opportunity to return to the way in which Mauss also thought about the importance of ethnographic collections. A return to the classics at a time when the question of the origin of collections and their eventual restitution challenges us.
Important: it is now mandatory to present a COVID certificate to enter the MEG. Access to the MEG is only allowed with a COVID certificate and a valid QR code.
