As part of the Mapping Festival, sound artist David Bouvard has set up two listening points in the MEG Garden composed of musical excerpts from the museum's abundant sound archives. The music comes from a multitude of cultures and has been recorded on all five continents, from the end of the 20th century to the present day.
These two locations (a small bird nesting box and one of the cement benches in the Garden) are the preamble to the Sound Detours which will be deployed in the Museum and the surrounding area as soon as the health situation permits.
