Giovanni Giuriati is interested in the changes in musical traditions in Southern Italy. More specifically, his work concerns the Carnival Tarantella of Montemarano, a village located in the province of Avellino, in the mountains around Naples. His lecture will present the changes observed in the music of this festival, and the transformation from the point of view of researchers who have been observing it for fifty years.
