The idea of flying over Saint-Emilion in a hot air balloon is the result of a meeting between Guy-Petrus Lignac, owner of Château Guadet, Grand Cru Classé in Saint Emilion, President of the Tourist Office of the Grand Saint-Emilion, Joëlle Manuel, Deputy Mayor, and Patricia Lamy, pilot and organizer of air events.
Born in 2011 and crowned with success for their first edition, the Montgolfiades have become one of the unmissable events of the year. Every year, 15 hot air balloons gather on the third weekend of October to take flight in Saint-Emilion, just after the harvest. Activities for young and old accompany these days of celebration such as workshops and demonstrations of kites and conferences.
A multitude of animations will complete the program of this weekend: workshop modelism and manufacture of kites, photo exhibition, pirate balloons... and food trucks to restore you! Other activities will be added between now and October.
Be ready for the takeoff and fly over the village of Saint-Emilion and its hilly surroundings at a few hundred meters high...

L'idée de survoler Saint-Émilion en montgolfière est le fruit d'une rencontre entre Guy-Petrus Lignac, propriétaire de Château Guadet, Grand Cru Classé à Saint Emilion, Président de l’Office du Tourisme du Grand Saint- Emilionnais, Joëlle Manuel, Adjointe au Maire, et Patricia Lamy, pilote et organisatrice d’événements aériens.
Nées en 2011 et couronnées de succès pour leur première édition, les Montgolfiades sont devenues un des événements incontournables de l'année. Tous les ans, 15 montgolfières se rassemblent lors du troisième week-end d'octobre pour prendre leur envol à Saint-Émilion, juste après les vendanges. Des activités pour petits et grands accompagnent ces journées de fête telles que des ateliers et des démonstrations de cerfs-volants et des conférences.
Au programme, rien de moins que l’envol simultanée de 20 montgolfières plusieurs fois par jour partant survoler les vignobles des environs classés au patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO.
Soyez parés pour le décollage et survolez le village de Saint-Émilion et ses alentours vallonés à quelques centaines de mètres de hauteur...
