A national event

The Fête de la musique has been scheduled for 21 June, a singular and symbolic date corresponding to the summer solstice. With free concerts, the support of the SACEM, the media, the backing of local authorities and the growing support of the general public, in just a few years the Fête de la musique has become one of France's biggest cultural events.
The energy of all the "volunteers" who get involved gives this exceptional day its fundamental spontaneity and its air of joyful transgression.
