Die regionale Denkmalpflege bietet in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Titularorganisten Pierre Méa außergewöhnliche Führungen zu den beiden Orgeln der Kathedrale und insbesondere zur kürzlich restaurierten großen Orgel an.
Diese Besichtigungen ermöglichen es, die Geschichte, die Architektur und die Funktionsweise dieser bedeutenden Instrumente des reimischen Erbes zu entdecken und gleichzeitig die musikalischen Merkmale der Großen Orgel zu vermitteln.
Ablauf der Besichtigung - ca. 30 Minuten
1. Vorstellung der Chororgel
Der Besuch beginnt mit einer Vorstellung der Chororgel, die es ermöglicht, dieses Instrument in die liturgische und musikalische Organisation der Kathedrale einzuordnen.
Es werden die Rolle der Orgel bei der Begleitung der Liturgie, die Komplementarität dieser Orgel mit der großen Orgel sowie ihre wichtigsten historischen, patrimonialen und musikalischen Merkmale behandelt.
2. Präsentation der Tribünenorgel, Hauptorgel der Kathedrale
Der Besuch wird in der Kathedrale mit einer Präsentation über die Geschichte der großen Orgel, ihre Einbettung im Gebäude und ihre Entwicklung im Laufe der Jahrhunderte fortgesetzt.
Die regionale Denkmalpflege wird insbesondere die wichtigsten Meilensteine in der Geschichte des Instruments, die Herausforderungen im Zusammenhang mit seiner Erhaltung und seinem Schutz als historische Denkmäler sowie die Hauptlinien der kürzlich abgeschlossenen Restaurierungsarbeiten vorstellen.
Diese Präsentation wird es ermöglichen, die beiden Instrumente zu entdecken, die am musikalischen Leben der Kathedrale beteiligt sind, und ihre jeweiligen Funktionen besser zu verstehen.
3. Entdeckung der festen Konsole und Bedienung des Instruments
Die Besucher werden anschließend zur Tribüne geführt, um die feste Konsole der großen Orgel zu entdecken.
Pierre Méa wird die Funktionsweise des Instruments, seine technischen Merkmale und seine Organisation vorstellen und seine Erklärungen mit kurzen musikalischen Demonstrationen begleiten, die es ermöglichen, einige seiner klanglichen Eigenschaften konkret zu veranschaulichen.
Diese Sequenz wird es insbesondere ermöglichen, die präsentierten technischen Elemente mit den verschiedenen Möglichkeiten des restaurierten Instruments in Beziehung zu setzen.
4. Einführung in die mobile Konsole
Eine Präsentation der mobilen Konsole der großen Orgel ermöglicht es schließlich, die besonderen Bedingungen ihrer Nutzung und ihre Verbindung mit der festen Konsole anzusprechen.
Von der Tribüne aus kann Pierre Méa die wichtigsten Merkmale dieser Konsole vorstellen und die Möglichkeiten erklären, die sie dem Organisten bietet, insbesondere um die Interpretation möglichst nah an den liturgischen und musikalischen Raum zu bringen.

The Regional Conservation of Historic Monuments offers, in partnership with the titular organist Pierre Méa, exceptional visits devoted to the two organs of the cathedral and especially to the great organ, recently restored.
These visits will allow you to discover the history, architecture and operation of these major instruments of the heritage of Reims, while giving to hear the musical characteristics of the Great organ.
Course of the visit – about 30 minutes
1. Presentation of the choir organ
The visit will begin with a presentation of the choir organ, allowing us to place this instrument in the liturgical and musical organization of the cathedral.
Will be discussed the role of the organ in the accompaniment of the liturgy, the complementarity of this organ with the great organ as well as its main historical, patrimonial and musical characteristics.
2. Presentation of the gallery organ, Great Cathedral organ
The visit will continue in the cathedral with a presentation of the history of the great organ, its implantation in the building and its evolution over the centuries.
The Regional Conservation of Historical Monuments will present in particular the main stages of the history of the instrument, the issues related to its conservation and protection under the title of Historic Monuments, as well as the main directions of the recently completed restoration project.
This presentation will thus make it possible to discover the two instruments that participate in the musical life of the cathedral and to better understand their respective functions.
3. Discovery of the fixed console and operation of the instrument
Visitors will then be led to the gallery to discover the fixed console of the great organ.
Pierre Méa will present the functioning of the instrument, its technical characteristics and its organization, accompanying his explanations with short musical demonstrations to illustrate concretely some of its sound characteristics.
This sequence will notably make it possible to relate the technical elements presented with the different possibilities offered by the restored instrument.
4. Mobile console overview
A presentation of the mobile console of the great organ will finally allow to evoke the particular conditions of its use and its articulation with the fixed console.
From the rostrum, Pierre Méa will be able to present the main features of this console and explain the possibilities it offers the organist, especially for conducting the interpretation as close as possible to the liturgical and musical space.

La Conservazione regionale dei monumenti storici propone, in collaborazione con l'organista titolare Pierre Méa, visite eccezionali dedicate ai due organi della cattedrale e in particolare al grande organo, recentemente restaurato.
Queste visite consentiranno di scoprire la storia, l'architettura e il funzionamento di questi importanti strumenti del patrimonio di Reims, dando allo stesso tempo a conoscere le caratteristiche musicali del Grande organo.
Svolgimento della visita - circa 30 minuti
1. Presentazione dell'organo da coro
La visita inizierà con una presentazione dell'organo da coro, che permetterà di reinserire questo strumento nell'organizzazione liturgica e musicale della cattedrale.
Saranno discussi il ruolo dell'organo nell'accompagnamento della liturgia, la complementarità di questo organo con il grande organo e le sue principali caratteristiche storiche, patrimoniali e musicali.
2. Presentazione dell'organo a tribuna, Grande organo della Cattedrale
La visita proseguirà nella cattedrale con una presentazione della storia del grande organo, della sua collocazione nell'edificio e della sua evoluzione nel corso dei secoli.
La Conservazione regionale dei monumenti storici presenterà in particolare le principali tappe della storia dello strumento, le sfide legate alla sua conservazione e alla sua protezione a titolo dei monumenti storici, nonché i grandi orientamenti del cantiere di restauro recentemente completato.
Questa presentazione permetterà così di scoprire i due strumenti che partecipano alla vita musicale della cattedrale e di comprendere meglio le loro rispettive funzioni.
3. Scoperta della console fissa e funzionamento dello strumento
I visitatori saranno poi condotti alla tribuna per scoprire la console fissa del grande organo.
Pierre Méa presenterà il funzionamento dello strumento, le sue caratteristiche tecniche e la sua organizzazione, accompagnando le sue spiegazioni con brevi dimostrazioni musicali che permettono di illustrare concretamente alcune delle sue caratteristiche sonore.
Questa sequenza permetterà in particolare di mettere in relazione gli elementi tecnici presentati con le diverse possibilità offerte dallo strumento restaurato.
4. Introduzione alla console mobile
Una presentazione della console mobile del grande organo permetterà infine di evocare le condizioni particolari del suo utilizzo e la sua articolazione con la console fissa.
Dalla tribuna, Pierre Méa potrà presentare le principali caratteristiche di questa console e spiegare le possibilità che offre all'organista, in particolare per condurre l'interpretazione più vicino allo spazio liturgico e musicale.

La Conservation régionale des Monuments historiques propose, en partenariat avec l’organiste titulaire Pierre Méa, des visites exceptionnelles consacrées aux deux orgues de la cathédrale et notamment au grand orgue, récemment restauré.
Ces visites permettront de découvrir l’histoire, l’architecture et le fonctionnement de ces instruments majeurs du patrimoine rémois, tout en donnant à entendre les caractéristiques musicales du Grand orgue.
Déroulement de la visite – environ 30 minutes
1. Présentation de l’orgue de chœur
La visite débutera par une présentation de l’orgue de chœur, permettant de replacer cet instrument dans l’organisation liturgique et musicale de la cathédrale.
Seront évoqués le rôle de l’orgue dans l’accompagnement de la liturgie, la complémentarité de cet orgue avec le grand orgue ainsi que ses principales caractéristiques historiques, patrimoniales et musicales.
2. Présentation de l’orgue de tribune, Grand orgue de la Cathédrale
La visite se poursuivra dans la cathédrale par une présentation de l’histoire du grand orgue, de son implantation dans l’édifice et de son évolution au cours des siècles.
La Conservation régionale des Monuments historiques présentera notamment les principales étapes de l’histoire de l’instrument, les enjeux liés à sa conservation et à sa protection au titre des Monuments historiques, ainsi que les grandes orientations du chantier de restauration récemment achevé.
Cette présentation permettra ainsi de découvrir les deux instruments qui participent à la vie musicale de la cathédrale et de mieux comprendre leurs fonctions respectives.
3. Découverte de la console fixe et fonctionnement de l’instrument
Les visiteurs seront ensuite conduits au niveau de la tribune afin de découvrir la console fixe du grand orgue.
Pierre Méa présentera le fonctionnement de l’instrument, ses caractéristiques techniques et son organisation, en accompagnant ses explications de courtes démonstrations musicales permettant d'illustrer concrètement certaines de ses caractéristiques sonores.
Cette séquence permettra notamment de mettre en relation les éléments techniques présentés avec les différentes possibilités offertes par l’instrument restauré.
4. Présentation de la console mobile
Une présentation de la console mobile du grand orgue permettra enfin d’évoquer les conditions particulières de son utilisation et son articulation avec la console fixe.
Depuis la tribune, Pierre Méa pourra présenter les principales caractéristiques de cette console et expliquer les possibilités qu’elle offre à l’organiste, notamment pour conduire l’interprétation au plus près de l’espace liturgique et musical.

La Conservación regional de los monumentos históricos propone, en colaboración con el organista titular Pierre Méa, visitas excepcionales dedicadas a los dos órganos de la catedral y especialmente al gran órgano, recientemente restaurado.
Estas visitas permitirán descubrir la historia, la arquitectura y el funcionamiento de estos importantes instrumentos del patrimonio de Reims, al tiempo que dan a entender las características musicales del Gran Órgano.
Duración de la visita - aproximadamente 30 minutos
1. Presentación del órgano de coro
La visita comenzará con una presentación del órgano de coro, lo que permitirá situar este instrumento en la organización litúrgica y musical de la catedral.
Se abordará el papel del órgano en el acompañamiento de la liturgia, la complementariedad de este órgano con el gran órgano y sus principales características históricas, patrimoniales y musicales.
2. Presentación del órgano de tribuna, Gran Órgano de la Catedral
La visita continuará en la catedral con una presentación de la historia del gran órgano, su implantación en el edificio y su evolución a lo largo de los siglos.
La conservación regional de los monumentos históricos presentará, en particular, las principales etapas de la historia del instrumento, los desafíos relacionados con su conservación y protección como monumentos históricos, así como las grandes orientaciones del proyecto de restauración recientemente concluido.
Esta presentación permitirá descubrir los dos instrumentos que participan en la vida musical de la catedral y comprender mejor sus funciones respectivas.
3. Descubrimiento de la consola fija y funcionamiento del instrumento
Los visitantes serán luego conducidos al nivel de la tribuna para descubrir la consola fija del gran órgano.
Pierre Méa presentará el funcionamiento del instrumento, sus características técnicas y su organización, acompañando sus explicaciones con breves demostraciones musicales que permiten ilustrar concretamente algunas de sus características sonoras.
Esta secuencia permitirá en particular poner en relación los elementos técnicos presentados con las diferentes posibilidades ofrecidas por el instrumento restaurado.
4. Introducción a la consola móvil
Una presentación de la consola móvil del gran órgano permitirá finalmente evocar las condiciones particulares de su utilización y su articulación con la consola fija.
Desde la tribuna, Pierre Méa podrá presentar las principales características de esta consola y explicar las posibilidades que ofrece al organista, sobre todo para conducir la interpretación más cerca del espacio litúrgico y musical.
