This unprecedented exhibition, designed by the Musée Saint-Raymond, presents the events and developments that punctuated the crusade against the Albigensians but also the question of the heresy called «Cathar», around the debates that currently animate the community of historians.
Nearly 300 objects are exhibited in the two sites that host the exhibition, the Musée Saint-Raymond and the Couvent des Jacobins: exceptional archival documents lent by prestigious institutions such as the Bibliothèque nationale de France or the Archives nationales, unpublished archaeological objects, sculpted or painted works, scientific-quality historical reconstruction material (costumes, weapons), etc.
Sound, digital and interactive devices will enrich your visit experience. Trobador will invite you to compose your own chronicle of the crusade against the Albigensians.
Do not miss this meeting with the history of Toulouse and Occitania.

At the Saint-Raymond Museum, the Archaeology Museum of Toulouse, you enter a place that will not leave you marble. On the second floor, the objects presented and the models evoke Toulouse and its region at the time of the Gauls and Romans. On the first floor, we’ll never know if you’re the one watching the portraits in the gallery or the emperors staring at you. Then come the mythological sculptures with these amazing sculpted reliefs representing the works of Hercules. Head to the basement to discover a real archaeological site: an old cemetery in which an amazing remnant, a lime kiln has been preserved. Finish with the sarcophagi and their decor. Welcome to us, welcome to your home.
