Greek rituals, a sensory experience
How did the Ancient Greeks experience their religion on a daily basis?
The Gods were not just confined to their temples! They could pay you a visit, inhabit wooden objects, come to dinner… They were everywhere and took part in daily activities, as well as major events in the lives of men and women.
Four of these events were selected for this exhibition: marriage, sacrifice in honour of the Gods, banquets and burials.
They correspond to four key moments in the life of the Greeks, during which the Gods would intervene in a number of ways.
