Guided tour of the exhibition "Drawing Flaubert: Rochegrosse".
Georges-Antoine Rochegrosse (1859-1938), an early artist, had the chance to meet Gustave Flaubert at his home in Croisset and to design the writer’s study there. Become a history painter and illustrator, Rochegrosse illustrates Salammbô in 1900, then The Temptation of Saint Anthony. Many watercolor drawings as well as illustrated editions show with brilliance how the artist seized the works of Gustave Flaubert.

Georges-Antoine Rochegrosse (1859-1938), artiste précoce, a eu la chance de rencontrer Gustave Flaubert à son domicile de Croisset et d'y dessiner le cabinet de travail de l'écrivain. Devenu peintre d'histoire et illustrateur, Rochegrosse illustre Salammbô en 1900, puis La Tentation de saint Antoine. De nombreux dessins aquarellés ainsi que des éditions illustrées montrent avec brio comment l'artiste s'est emparé des oeuvres de Gustave Flaubert.

Georges-Antoine Rochegrosse (1859-1938), artista precoz, tuvo la suerte de conocer a Gustave Flaubert en su casa de Croisset y dibujar allí el estudio de trabajo del escritor. Convertido en pintor de historia e ilustrador, Rochegrosse illustre Salammbô en 1900, luego La tentación de san Antonio. Numerosos dibujos en acuarela así como ediciones ilustradas muestran con brillantez cómo el artista se apoderó de las obras de Gustave Flaubert.
