Sara de Brito Faustino - "Under A Home With No Roof"
In der Art einer vorweggenommenen Retrospektive präsentiert die Künstlerin eine zweite Einzelausstellung, die alle Erwartungen durcheinanderbringt. Konzipiert als Umzug, werden Fragmente ihres vorherigen Projekts in einer neuen Form wiederbelebt. Sie integriert sie wie ein Archiv in den Keller der Place du Château 4. Der ehemalige Keller erweist sich dort als Lagerraum, als eine Gedächtnisschicht, in der sich die Spuren vergangener Ausstellungen ansammeln.
Getreu ihrer ortsspezifischen Praxis, bei der sie die Architektur oder die Vergangenheit der von ihr genutzten Orte subtil nachbildet, hinterfragt sie die Grenze zwischen Öffentlichkeit und Privatsphäre und setzt damit eine seit 2023 geführte Reflexion über das Zuhause und seine peripheren Räume fort. Dies wird zu einer Möglichkeit, zu erforschen, wie Erinnerung den physischen Raum durchdringt und umgekehrt, wie Orte die Erinnerung neu gestalten können.
Zwischen institutionellem Archiv und häuslichem Keller lässt „Under A Home With No Roof“ „A Home With No Roof“ wieder auftauchen, ohne es jemals wirklich zu enthüllen. Als wegweisende Serie in Saras Schaffen erhält diese hier eine Art Abschied, bevor sie in den Schichten ihres künstlerischen Werks versinkt.

Sara de Brito Faustino - "Under A Home With No Roof"
In the style of an early retrospective, the artist presents a second solo exhibition that defies all expectations. Conceived as a relocation, fragments of her previous project are reactivated in a new form. She integrates them, like an archive, into the basement of Place du Château 4. Formerly a cellar, the space reveals itself as a storage area, a layer of memory where traces of past exhibitions accumulate.
True to her site-specific practice, which subtly reflects the architecture or history of the spaces she occupies, she explores the boundary between the public and the private, continuing a line of inquiry she has been pursuing since 2023 concerning the home and its peripheral spaces. This becomes a way of exploring how memory inhabits physical space and, in turn, how places can reshape memory.
Somewhere between an institutional storage room and a domestic cellar, ‘Under A Home With No Roof’ brings ‘A Home With No Roof’ back into view, without ever truly revealing it. As the founding series of Sara’s practice, it is given a kind of farewell here, before being buried within the layers of her artistic work.

Sara de Brito Faustino - "Under A Home With No Roof"
À la manière d’une rétrospective anticipée, l’artiste propose une seconde exposition monographique, qui brouille toutes attentes. Pensée comme un déménagement, des fragments de son précédent projet sont réactivés sous une forme nouvelle. Elle les intègre, telle une archive, au sous-sol de la Place du Château 4. Ancienne cave, l’espace s’y révèle comme un lieu de stockage, une couche de mémoire où s’accumulent les traces d’expositions passées.
Fidèle à sa pratique site-specific, reproduisant subtilement l’architecture ou le passé des lieux qu’elle investit, elle interroge la frontière entre le public et le privé, poursuivant une réflexion menée depuis 2023 autour du foyer et ses espaces périphériques. Ceci devient une manière d’explorer la façon dont la mémoire habite l’espace physique et, en retour, comment les lieux peuvent remodeler la mémoire.
Entre réserve institutionnelle et cave domestique, « Under A Home With No Roof » fait réapparaître, sans jamais réellement dévoiler « A Home With No Roof ». Série fondatrice de la pratique de Sara, cette dernière reçoit ici une forme d’adieu, avant de s’enfouir dans les strates de son travail artistique.
