Designed by architect Camille Montagné (first Grand Prix of Rome in 1932), built by Jacques Pompey (known for reshaping the landscape of Agen in the second half of the 20th century) and the public works company Delbigot, the school city of Nérac, formed by the Henri College of Navarre and the George Sand High School, consists of four roof-terrace bars arranged around a central courtyard with trees. These buildings reveal the architectural changes of the post-war period, in which the standard plan drawn according to the modular grid of 1 meter 75, the standardization of constructions with the system of concrete beam posts and prefabrication become the norm of school equipment. In 1964, four works (a panel of enamelled lava tiles by Pierre Saint-Paul, two paintings by Pierre Raffi and Pierre Théron, as well as a sculpture by Vadim Androusov) were integrated into the establishment under the title of 1% artistic.
