About the location

Jardin du Calvaire
Rue Voltaire, 11000 Carcassonne

Located at the southwest corner of the old city, is the Calvary garden, a space with obvious charm but often unknown to locals and tourists. It is a snail-shaped garden lined with walls, boxwood, old cypress, olive trees and fragrant laurels. A small haven of peace, this garden, saved from demolition in 1900, became the property of the City following the separation of the Church and the State in 1905\. It is classified on March 20, 1945 as a wealth of plantations in its park and for the religious interest it arouses.
