Domaine des Cloires
Les Cloires 18290 Chârost
The Cloires Domain is the work of a couple issoldunois of the second empire. It consists of a bourgeois house, factories, an orangery, a greenhouse and outbuildings. It is delimited by the Arnon, country meadows, ploughed fields and is in the middle of an exceptional setting composed of a landscaped park with the particularity of being designed in 1868 by François Duvillers-Chasseloup (1807-1887) architect, landscaper, botanist, Franco-Belgian. Today it is considered in France as one of the main landscapers of the second half of the 19th century (with Edouard André, Barillet-Deschamps, Bülher and Armand Désiré Péan). The park is composed of lawns, paths, trees and species, many of which date from the foundation of the park. The park also contains a wooded part dedicated to the walk, its topography allows to appreciate the views on a false valley, the valley of the Arnon and the horizon.
