Maison du Dr Gachet
78 rue Gachet 95430 Auvers-Sur-Oise
From the top of the garden terraces, lined with old boxwood and retained by stone walls, offers an escape on the red roofs of the village. Lime trees shade the courtyard, a troglodyte workshop is dug into the limestone cliff, another cavity opens onto a circus with steep walls lined with wild clematis, ivy and lianas. The garden appears in three paintings by Vincent van Gogh preserved in Paris, at the Musée d'Orsay. Text credit ©
