Arboretum du château de Neuvic d'Ussel
2 avenue des Marronniers 19160 Neuvic
- Corrèze
- Nouvelle-Aquitaine
Jean-Hyacinthe d'Ussel created this park at the same time as he rebuilt his home around 1830\. In the tradition of English parks, its many remarkable trees and beautiful views will surprise you. The hilly relief, highlighted by the alleys, allowed the creation of varied spaces with 350 species of trees and shrubs from America, Asia and Europe. Sometimes rare plantations are added, many developments are born: triple crown of boxwood surmounted by an imposing lime tree, oratory in its clearing, country gazebo. The vegetable cathedral welcomes children under its 8 trunks. Koi carps, ducks and turtles animate the pond, lined with organs of greenery, perennial flowers, shrubs and a granite aviary. Orchard, parish garden and chapel with contemporary stained glass windows complete the visit.
