Discovery visit of the Marceaux garden
Guided and/ or free tours to discover the Jardin des Marceaux.
The garden consists of three main parts: the first, near the family home, is the oldest; it consists mainly of fragrant shrubs, roses and various perennials. The second, started in 2010 from a large fallow field, a blank page, now gives pride of place to many trees and shrubs. This more recent part is of great botanical diversity and includes many plants that are not commonly encountered. The third part is along the river, where the atmosphere, cooler thanks to the presence of water, is also more natural.
With the acceleration of climate change, we are trying to adapt the garden by choosing the species planted, by practices to limit watering, and by differentiated mowing.
The whole, on an area of 2.4 hectares, is an LPO refuge where we want to preserve and promote biodiversity as much as possible. For us, the garden is a haven that we are happy to share.
This year, we have the pleasure to welcome Catherine Levesque, artist from Saône-et-Loire that you can find at the Marché de la Création in Lyon. She will exhibit in the garden her metal sculptures on the theme of plants and nature.
