On Saturday, June 1st, the best garden book of the year will be awarded by the association of gardens of Maine the 24th prize PJ Redouté. This is an opportunity for the general public to meet the winning authors around this common passion. The prize is awarded by a jury composed of experts and amateurs: Louis Benech, garden architect, Jean-Louis Remilleux, film producer, Diane van Strydonck, Belgian gardener and botanist, Martine Gérardin, journalist, Jacques Garcia, interior designer, creator of the Battlefield Garden, Marie-Anne Chazel, actress and author, Olivier Colin, plant collector and botanist, Maryvonne Pinault, garden lover and Marc Mennessier, journalist. The P.J. Redouté Prize is dedicated to books published during the year on the theme of garden and nature. It is organized with the support of Ethyx Pharmaceuticals, France Bleu Maine, Truffaut Le Mans, Bourg Joly Malicorne and the Departmental Council of Sarthe. The jury examines the works that reach it until the closing of the inscriptions in March. At the end of the selection stages, several mentions emerge in the categories gardening, botany, history and beautiful book. The result of the races is to be discovered on Saturday, June 1st at 3 pm, in the heart of the Fête des Jardiniers, in the company of award-winning authors and publishers.
