Villandry is a member(part) of big(great) castles built at the edge of the Loire in Renaissance. It has feature to be the house neither of a king nor a courtesan but that of Jean Le Breton, Minister of Finance of François Ier. The originality of Villandry is not only in a progressive architectural conception(design): she(it) is also in the use which was made of the site to build, in full harmony with nature and stone, gardens of a remarkable beauty there.
