Château et jardins du Rivau
La Coudray, 37120 Lémeré
- Indre-et-Loire
- Centre-Val de Loire
The medieval castle of Rivau is confidentially bound(connected) to the famous family of Beauvau. Resembled to the counts of Anjou, they had privilege from the XIth century to pay tribute to their suzerain the sword in the side, up, and the hat on the head. In the XIIIth century, Beauvau passed to the service(department) of the kings of France. They were then alloyed with the royal family by the marriage of Isabeau de Beauvau with Jean II de Bourbon in 1454\. The gardens of the castle are contemporary creations which stage themes inspired by tales and legends (6 hectares)
