"Always dear to me was this rough hill, and this hedge, that from so much part of the last horizon the look excludes...". It is here, in the garden of the ancient monastery of S. Stefano, close to his birthplace, that Giacomo Leopardi set his famous poem: "L'Infinito" L'Orto was recently the subject of a recovery project by the FAI - Fondo Ambiente Italiano, directed by landscape architect Paolo Pejrone, who integrated literary history, gardening culture and contemporary interpretation. Officinal plants, field blooms, fruit trees and vegetable plots follow one another along the paths and pergolas crossed two centuries ago by the poet.
