The protective garden of the departmental museum of Revermont (6 000 m ², created in 1986), rich in 650 sorts(species) and rare or local varieties of plants and 250 fruit trees, alloys pleasure of senses(directions) and discovery of plant heritage. Integral part of the museum, its protective kitchen garden-orchard arose from the initiative of enthusiasts, worried of preserving a more and more threatened plant heritage. In the same capacity as tools and objects in the museum, the cultivated plants are living witnesses(batons) of practices and knowledges. In turn food, remedy, flavour(perfume) or raw material for small business sector(crafts), they certify past and present lifestyles, customs or specific rites.
