The CNRS and the Vaulx-en-Velin Planetarium, in collaboration with RSA cosmos, invite you for a walk on a Petunia flower! Flowers have always fascinated by their colors, shapes and great diversity. Petals are the most attractive floral organs, both for us and for pollinating insects. But what exactly is a petal? How do its cells produce the color and iridescence of flowers?
Marie Monniaux conducts her research at the Reproduction and Plant Development (RDP) laboratory.
Free access to the astronomical garden and planetarium exhibitions will be offered throughout the day on Saturday.
Lands of adventure or unknown, the garden invites you to navigate naturally between different mineral or organic atmospheres, wet or dry… Meander after meander, discover the richness of life on our planet through the complexity of plant species that await you. It is an opportunity to observe the peculiarities of our planet, its biodiversity to protect, but also to question its position in the Universe, to recognize its only beauty among all the other planets known or to be discovered. Over the course of the explorations, the paths of the garden converge on a footbridge leading to the Observatory, an essential meeting place between heaven and earth. Then contemplate the Universe: the world of the stars is in the image of life on Earth, of infinite richness.
This research and this immersive conference were funded in whole or in part by the National Research Agency (ANR).
