Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 10am to 5pm:
"Medicinal plants to the rescue of the 5 senses"
As part of the 21st edition of the Rendez-vous aux jardins, the cloister of the Récollets will open its doors to present its garden of medicinal plants. About fifty medicinal plants are presented with the details of their use.
Guided tours at 11am-2pm-4pm.
The referent of the garden, graduate in herbalism, will be present to answer questions that can be asked about the use of medicinal plants.
The garden has essentially an educational vocation. Since herbal medicine is a natural discipline, considered as such, by many people as safe, self-medication is increasingly popular among followers of this medicine. However, caution is advised as there are contraindications and risks of interaction with allopathic treatments.
The Church of the Recollets, adjoining the cloister, will also be open on this occasion.
Free event.

About the location

Cloître des Récollets de Saverne
Rue poincaré 67700 Saverne
  • Bas-Rhin
  • Grand Est
This Gothic cloister, architectural jewel of the fourteenth century, is one of the most beautiful in Alsace.
After hosting a convent, the Cloister becomes a Latin school. In the 17th century, it housed shops and passing troops, before becoming a women’s college, then an annex of the Collège Poincaré.
Under the arches, you can see murals depicting biblical and religious scenes inspired by the spirit of the Counter-Reformation.
Take the opportunity to relax in its garden!
Guided tours are possible. Information at the tourist office of Saverne (adjoining the cloister)
