"The Delitioso Paradiso: nature, architecture, painting" is a guided tour that follows a path through the oak and oak forest that embraces the Roveresca wing of Villa Imperiale, and then discover the terraced Italian gardens with its lemons and melangoli, and then continue in the courtyards and on the terraces with staggered access to the apartment of the Duchess Leonora Gonzaga in the Della Rovere wing and the frescoed rooms in the Sforza wing where the natural landscapes painted create the illusion of being in a garden.

About the location

Villa Imperiale
Via dei Cipressi 63, Pesaro PU
  • Marche
A villa with gardens, jewel of Renaissance architecture, consists of two distinct nuclei. To the older and more severe one was added a second, conceived as a gift from Duchess Leonora Gonzaga for her consort Francesco Maria Della Rovere, Duke of Urbino, so that there she could find rest from the military efforts. Geometric flower beds designed by the boxwood still evoke the richness of the sixteenth-century arrangement, while the "wild", the natural spot, embraces the upper portion. A system of terraces with altars, inserted in the portion of building facing the valley, allows you to enjoy the extensive view of the valley of the river Foglia, the hills and the Apennines that fade on the horizon.
