If the Palais de Tokyo, a gigantic block of marble and concrete, is not known for its gardens, this visit will nevertheless lead you to its hidden gardens, inside and outside. You will explore the community garden of Mohamed Bourouissa at the heart of his exhibition “Signal” and the sound tapestries of Chloé Bensahel made from invasive woven plants. The visit will continue outdoors in the oldest work of the Palais de Tokyo: the Jardin aux habitant which brings together amateur gardeners around the maintenance of a shared garden, forming for more than 20 years a singular community organized around a plant, collective and artistic process imagined by Robert Millin.

About the location

The Palais de Tokyo, the largest contemporary art centre in Europe, offers a multisensory experience, exceptional and out of bounds of creation while being crossed by the challenges of the contemporary world. It asserts itself as a platform for committed and accessible reflection, where dream and imagination become aware, where contemplation and escape stimulate creativity and knowledge, where art in its inclusive dimension becomes a process of transformation of man and of the community. The Palais de Tokyo is an aesthetic and citizen mediator, both a place of discovery and transmission, AND a place of encounters and solidarity.
