Jardin botanique du col de Saverne
Col de Saverne D1004 67700 Saverne
Created nearly a century ago, in 1932, the Jardin botanique du col de Saverne is the fruit of the work and passion of an eminent botanist from Saverne, Emile Walter, who, while writing a book on flora for hikers in the vicinity of Saverne, was intrigued by the floristic richness of a bushy moor in the climb to the Saverne pass. it wanted to highlight this amazing micro-environment: this wasteland relatively rich in limestone in the middle of a sandstone forest, below the road, had benefited from the runoff and the contribution of limestone brought by the encroachment of the road of the pass, built 200 years ago.
