Discovery of the garden and the tea house
The garden, open and bright, created in 2018 by the architects Agnès Latour-Kurashige and Jean-Sébastien Cluzel, hosts an authentic tea house (chashitsu), offered in 2001 by Japan, and designed by the architect Nakamura Masao and built by the best craftsmen from the land of the Rising Sun. Its architecture is an ideal of peace and modesty, as well as an example of extreme refinement in the choice of different woods used. The tea pavilion is accessed by a small path strewn with stone steps, dwarf bamboo, moss, horsetail, ferns, cherry, a lantern and a bowl, as a preamble to the rituals of the tea ceremony.
As part of the Rendez-vous aux jardins 2024 weekend, visitors will be able to admire some jewelry made by the designer and jewelry designer Anna Hu. Passionate about the transmission of know-how and the training of future generations, Anna Hu participated this year in the Individual Project of Creation of students in Bachelor Design Bijou 3rd year of the High School of Jewelry. The designer worked with 13 student designers on the theme «The Four Gentlemen» (plum blossom, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum) inspired by the Guimet Museum’s Chinese collections, including screens, furniture, porcelain and textiles. This research will be exhibited at the Guimet Museum from June 1 to 3, 2024. The exhibition of Anna Hu’s sketches and works of High Jewellery will be accessible free of charge from Friday, June 1 to Monday, June 3, 2024, outside the slots reserved for conferences and guided tours organized at the Hotel d'Heidelbach.
