About the location

Parc Barré Saint
Rue du Docteur Poulain, 61600 La Ferté-Macé

Inaugurated in 1901, it was the property of Dr Barré. His daughter Madame François-Xavier Saint bequeathed her father’s house on the death of her father.
This park has been transformed into a public garden with a children’s playground and a kiosk surrounded by a rose garden.
Near the kiosk, one can admire a statue that is the replica of the statue of Diana whose original is on display at the Louvre. It was donated by Albert Christophle in 1892\. It was first placed on the site of the Victoire monument, then in front of the Caisse d'Epargne and since 1965 in this park where it seems to like itself…
The Peace Memorial: this monument was commissioned in 1937 from Marcel Pierre by Mademoiselle Emilie Boulanger for the municipality of Bagnoles-de-l'Orne which plans to install it in Place Centrale (currently Place du Général de Gaulle).
