On the occasion of the 21st edition of Rendez-vous aux jardins, the MUDO-Musée de l'Oise opens the doors of its French gardens to contemporary creation by inviting the artist Fred Martin. For the first time, all museum visitors are invited to take part in a participatory and ephemeral work that will be exhibited in the museum’s gardens until the fall. Between land art and traditional practice, the artist proposes to create a mosaic of faces in volumes, scattered in the gardens of the episcopal palace. Reviving the ancestral work of clay, Fred Martin offers Baptisms of Earth, during which each visitor is invited to plunge his face into the clay to leave a mark. Traces of the passage of time as well as visitors to the museum, these matrices are used by the artist to create a unique cast of each participant’s face.
